Second week after opening, Topsoil shows great promise. Fresh breads, eclectic wine selections, breakfast, lunch, and small plate dinners are well-conceived and executed. Service is top notch, atmosphere offers the quiet, subdued ambiance that is difficult to find in today's hyper plugged-in world.Offering Sunday brunch, as yet to be planned, Topsoil is another outstanding addition to the growing Travelers Rest reputation as an up and coming destination visit.Topsoil is, above all, a "farm to table" experience featuring local cheeses, home-baked breads, and produce from local farms, including McGregor's offerings.

What a gem! So fresh and unique. The staff has really gone above and beyond during these unknown times. I’m not sure why other customers find it necessary to say they are disorganized and upset about a simple mistake. Clearly they haven’t ever worked in the restaurant industry. Mistakes happen! You all are doing a great job during this trying time. Keep your heads up!

This restaurant is such a treat! The farm fresh food is incredible. We loved the charred vegetables. Hubby had delicious homemade pasta with lamb. The bread was made correctly with a little salt added. Our server was so friendly and helpful. It was a Friday night so they had live Jazz. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. And as an added bonus, parking was convenient. This place has become one of my top five in the upstate and we will be back!

We like a lot going out. Yesterday we arrived in this delicious place which friends told us about. We had a lovely evening there with excellent cooking and an experienced stuff and an impressive chief cook. We put this venue in our phone list and we will certainly visit again very soon. We deeply recommend.

I'd give it twice that many stars if I could. Free parking lot. Plenty of seating. Local, fresh. great cocktail. Veggie burger (house made... Not an Impossible Burger) was delicious. corn bisque... Which happened to be soup of the day...was incredible! Awesome service... She even ran out in the rain to give me my cup that I forgot. Small market for produce etc. Just overall EXCELLENT.

Christopher was delightful. The carrot pancakes were incredible. We love their black silverware and the front door carrot door handle. They add character and charm to this delightful experience. Plus the avocado toast was delicious as was the grapefruit brulee. All four of us loved it!

We are locals and are friends with the owners who are as they say in the south, "the salt of the earth" So perhaps we are biased in loving Topsoil and giving it five stars. But I'm more inclined to think that our bias is the strength of this review. After all, who can argue with good people, farming the good earth in good for the land ways and making good ( really good!) food that's good for you? That's FIVE star in my mind. Adam's carrot Pancakes with cardamon butter and his gnocchi with pears are the stuff of heaven!!

This is an incredible farm to table restaurant in the small town of Travelers Rest just outside of Greemville, SC. The owners grow a lot of the produce themselves and the coffee is supplied from a local place. The staff is amazing and the venue is perfect for events. Their is a nice alcohol selection with several local options. The beef is grass fed. The burger is one of the best (if not the best) I have ever had. Their cinnamon rolls are not gluten free but they make the break themselves, and they are extraordinary. This is one of my all time favorites already and they are only about 8 weeks old at this point.

Topsoil is a great restaurant and offers so much more. You can purchase wine, freshly made bread, bakery goods, and every Saturday morning from 11am to 2 pm there is an indoor farmer's market set up with freshly picked organic produce. Best produce ever!

This place is amazing! We ordered the Folded Egg, the Sourdough French Toast with fresh figs and maple syrup and the Brown Sugar sausage patties. The flavors were to die for and the portions were generous. The figs on the French Toast were a nice spin on traditional fruit toppings and the brown sugar sausage was the best I've ever had - anywhere. We miss Williams Hardware (which was in the space before Topsoil) but have a new favorite now. Prices were very reasonable (about $25 for everything above and coffee). They have indoor and outdoor seating and the screened dining porch is just steps off the Swamp Rabbit Trail. This place has a cool vibe and delicious food. Our server's name was Sara and she was first class. I highly recommend you visit soon - once people realize how good this place is you might have trouble getting a table!!!

My new favorite restaurant in Travelers Rest. One of the most amazing dining experiences I have had. I sat at the bar and received the best service. From my first drink to my dinner to my last drink the flavors all melded together creating a most enjoyable experience. I highly recommend it I can't wait to go back again. I am just slightly disappointed that I hadn't visited Topsoil sooner.
